Resources for filming
Gels for colour:
Due to us wanting to relate the theme of the video to the lyrics and title of the song, we need specific props to do this. Firstly, we will need a coloured gel, to put in front of the lights whilst filming. This will enable us to change the colour of the lighting to green, which will do what we wanted to do, and make the lights match the song title 'Green Light'. I searched around for these on the internet, to see how much they would be to use:

Out of all of the ones I found, I thought the ones from the 'WEX' website were the most appropriate. This was due to knowing the measurements of the lights we will use at Falmouth University, and these are the correct size. They are also not too expensive, as we are only planning to use one green one.
However, after ringing Grace about checking what we will need in order to film, we found out the studio we are using already has the coloured gels that we need. This is very helpful, as it means we do not need to go and spend money and time buying them.
Camera and SD Card
We will be using our own camera, which we have already. It is a Canon camera, which is perfect for what we need. It has all the functions we need. In order to keep the filming still, we are using a tripod which we are borrowing from Falmouth University. We know they will already fit the camera we are using as we asked Grace as she is a Fashion Photography student, so knows a lot about the technology and lights we are using. We have also bought a new SD card, to put all of our filming on.

UPDATED ANCILLARY TASK: practice
Due to changing our actress from Charlotte to Grace, this meant I had to also change my Digpak and poster ideas. This was not too much of a problem, as I had not completely finished either. I need to now take new pictures of Grace, and use these instead of the other ones.
As we cannot easily take pictures of Grace, due to her currently living in Falmouth, I knew she has occasional shoots done for her. Therefore, I asked permission to use these pictures to practise on. These will not be my final Digipak, this is just practise/draft ones.
I used a previous student's digipak poster for inspiration:

I really like how she has dissoloved two pictures into one. It is really effective, as it almost shows what the girl is thinking. It also shows the genre of the song they made a video to, without actually listening or knowing the song.
I wanted to use a similar font on my digipak album as Lorde's album. Her album 'Green Light' does not have any writing on the front, therefore I researched another album of hers. I found 'Pure Heroin', which has writing on the front. Then I researched the font used on the front. I found it on http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/urw/futura/, however, it costs £21 to use, therefore I thought I should look at more websites to find a similar one.

1st Try:

Planning to Film
Our actress, Grace, goes to university in Falmouth and studies Fashion Photography. This made it difficult for us to film, but was also beneficial. Her being in Falmouth means it will be hard for us to film and get retakes after editing. However, Falmouth University has an amazing photography studio, which would be perfect for us to film in, and would be free as well. It has all the lighting we would need, and all the facilities. Also, Falmouth has amazing beaches, and is very close to the sea, so if we decided to get a different location within our video, then we can easily find somewhere to go, free of cost and not far away from the University.

Travelling to Falmouth:
We knew that getting a bus to Falmouth would be much cheaper than driving there. We looked on the MegaBus website, and it was extremely cheap for us to get there and back. We were happy to pay this money for travelling, as we will not be paying for the photography studio we are using, and any facilities we would also use. If we were to film in a studio in Bristol, for 6 hours, it would most probably be double this. Therefore, this is the best option. We will be going this saturday (9th December) and come back on the Monday (11th December), to give ourselves a long enough time to film, and reshoot.

Change of Actor and Location
From attempting to film, we decided the actress we planned to use, Charlotte, is not the best person to use. This was because when we tried to film the first of our video, she seemed quite shy, and not very confident. Therefore, it didn't create the overall look we wanted. Because of this, me and my partner, Annabel, have decided to change who we will use in our music video. We will now use Grace Butler, as she has previously done Media Studies for an A Level, therefore she has gone through making a music video, like what me and Annabel are doing now. She has also modelled many times for us when doing previous photoshoots for other subjects. Because of this, we know what she is like, and she is very happy to be a part of our music video.
