TASK ELEVEN: Digipak research -using Photoshop

Learning Comment:
This task was really helpful to me. This is because, before doing this task, I had never used Photoshop before, meaning I had no idea how to use it. By practising on it, and making my own Digipaks, it enabled me to learn how to use Photoshop and how to edit features that I want to. Also by doing the task, I edited previous CD covers of artists'. This allowed me to learn how to add things to it and take them away. This therefore, has allowed me to practice and get ready for the real thing; when I make my own Digipak. As I now know how do do things I need to, I can now interpret these findings into my own, and try to achieve the highest grade possible.

TASK THIRTEEN: EXTENTION TASK: Advanced Editing Techniques

MAGIC EDITING

1 Jumping onto a chair:

2. Colour-Changing chair:

Learning Comment
From the task I learnt how important continuity is when editing videos showing different techniques.  also learnt how using a camera correctly can make magic effects such as a chair changing colour etc.
In my videos, I feel partly, they look good and effective because the changes are quick and they almost look like the same cut. However, it does not look perfectly professional as you are able to see the change of cut. This is due to us not using a tripod and using an iPhone 6S free hand. This made our video look less like professional ones we have seen because it does not completely flow.

To Improve:
To improve our next 'magic editing' video for next time, we will use a tripod with either a camera fitted onto one or stick an iPhone to it using sellotape. This will make it look much more professional and it will just look like one cut and not two, causing it to seem more professional, and therefore look more 'magic'.

TASK TEN: 30 CUT CHORUS

Learning Comment:
From doing this task, I learned how a variety of cuts help to make a successful music video. For the majority of the time, we only used one person. This made it easier for us to make quicker shots and make them look more realistic, whereas with two people, this would have made it harder as we would have two people to consider. We also filmed a variety of shots, including long and short ones. This made editing not only easier but also look more professional as if we only included short cuts, it would have made our video look more boring and therefore, unprofessional. We also included to clips of slow motion which we did specifically to fit with the song we chose. This made our clips have a wider variety of pace, as we included fast and slow clips. Throughout the stages of our editing, we also tried hard to make our clips fit to the beat of the song. For example, at the beginning, we included clips of a clock which fit with the noises of 'ticking' within our chosen song.

To improve:
When editing, we realised there were many clips we filmed which didn't flow probably. This was due to Milly (the main actor) switching hands when holding the book. To improve, we would look more carefully next time and make sure this doesn't happen. Also, some of our filming was quite shaky, meaning some clips we were unable to use. When filming our music video, we would film with a professional camera which would make this less likely and happen less often.

TASK NINE: Lip Syncing

Learning Comment:
From doing this task, I learnt how to make a music video and how to lip sing successfully. This was our first attempt and it finished looking how we wanted it too. We tried to make it look enthuasiastic and fun, to make the audience interested. I think we did this well, by using bright colours and lots of different shots. We also had to learn the lyrics to the line we were lip singing in order for it to look more realistic and look like a professional music video.  If I was to do the task again, I would improve the quality of the filming as in some parts it is quite shaky which makes it look less professional. I would do this by, when filming our full music video, use an expensive camera instead of an iPhone, this would make it look much better and more professional and easier for us to keep the filming still throughout. To keep the camera and filing still, we would also set the camera on a tripod which would stop the camera from shaking.
